  • Looks like Fall has found us yet again.  Over the next few days, we'll lose about 10 degrees/day.  *sigh*  I knew the warmth couldn't last.  Eh, atleast I got a great tan out of it!

So, I've already seen one Christmas commercial on TV.  Cripes, it get's earlier every year.  Absolutely ridiculous if you ask me.  Ok, so I'm already finished my shopping for Christmas (just a few gifts left to order for the sitters), but still...  Royce and I are really going to make an effort to show Kyra and Spencer the real reason for this season.  I want the kiddos to understand why this is a joyous season, that they are extremely fortunate in soo many ways, and that we need to help others who aren't soo fortunate.  My only problem, how do I help a 3-year old and an 18-month old understand?  I'm really hoping our Church has some ideas...but do you all?

Well, I must get the day started.  Going to be very busy over at the Academy today.    Lots of physicals to do, heh heh.  Have a great weekend!

  • So, what do you think of my new look?    And, gotta say, I'm disappointed y'all haven't commented on my profile pic.  Just so's you know, we were in a hay barn, must've been 2 feet of hay on the floor, and Royce loves to throw the lil guy up.  And, obviously, Spence loves it too.

Anyhooo, gotta go get the kiddos.  We're gonna eat dinner and watch Nemo tonight!  Yeah!!!!!!!

  • Holy smokes...it's hot as blazes out today...and I mean like Southern hot, Carribean hot, dang hot.    80-some degree hot.  It's AWESOME!!!  It is certainly going to be a slap in the face when Autumn finally decides to descend upon us.  *shiver*

Hope you all are having a super day/week.  I get to go to my first Physician Assistant conference tomorrow.  I'm really looking forward to it so that I can meet up with some friends from my former practice.  I'm hoping they're going to be there.  It'll be hard to really get into the whole swing of things as I still have a while to go until I can look for jobs, but it never hurts to put your best foot forward and start making contacts, ya know?

Well, y'all stay cool (ha ha) and enjoy our break from the usual chills of November.

  •  *sniff sniff*  You know how I said that this was the first Halloween we took the kids out and dressed them up and all that?  And how I had even dressed up?  Well, obviously these were Kodakā„¢ moments.    You know how little boys are obsessed with things with buttons?  (you know where this is going, don't you?)  And with water?  Especially that water which is in the toilet?  (you really know now, don't you?  Well, my camera took a swim in the potty yesterday.  WAHHHHHHHHH!!  All those pictures gone, *poof* like they never existed.  *sniff sniff*  Not so sure the camera is gonna pull through either, and that really stinks because it's one that I received for Christmas two years ago.    Lesson learned, wrap all portable electrical devices in neoprene from now on.

Is this weather odd or what?  It's gonna be in the 70's again today!!!  Yesterday actually topped 80!!  Criminy, this is weird...but I'm lovin' every minute of it!!!!    Y'all stay , y'hear?

  • Just got back from trick-or-treating with the kids.  Their first time ever going and it was awesome!!!  Spence was dressed up as a lil football player, complete with the black stuff under his eyes; Kyra was a princess ballerina, and I was a dust bunny...yup, covered myself in cobwebs (dust) and had the ears and pink nose and whiskers.    Yes, I am a cheezy, cheezy person.

Hope you all have a safe and happy weekend!

  • Remember a while ago I told you about my backpack being stolen?  Well, I got it back today.  I expected to be soo happy to have those little things back...you know, the silly things that mean the world to me??  Don't get me wrong, I am happy...but the worst is that I feel sooo freakin' violated it's pissing me off.  Someone took the time to thumb through my wallet.  To go through my backpack.  To open up my makeup, my pill bottles, everything.  Then, when the prick, 'scuse me, had taken the valuable things, he/she chucked my backpack from the roof of the garage to the ground 5 stories below.  It makes me soo sad that this person/people have never been taught to respect other's possessions.  That someone elses things mean something only as long as monetary value can be placed on it.  I feel sorry for this person that they will never know the simple joy in seeing a receipt for a doctor's visit on my birthday and know that that was the day I was induced with Kyra.  That they will never know the smile that crosses my face when I see the card Royce included with flowers he sent me one Valentine's Day.  Yeah, who's the loser now?

  • What a beautiful, yet somewhat chilly, day.  Spence and Kyra had on their new winter coats today...wayyyy too big for both of them.    Spence was having a fit that his hands kept disappearing, heh heh.  Oh well, I bought the coats at the end of winter last year on a super sale...so if they're a bit big, so be it.  Besides, I've always loved miniature Stay-Puff Marshmallows.

How are you all doing?  Got your pumpkins picked?  Your lights strung?  Your skeletons hung?  Spider webs spun?  There are some houses in our neighborhood that look soo neat!  Even bones in the yard under trees and bushes!  I'll probably venture out for a little bit with Thing 1 and Thing 2 next Friday.  I'm hoping that Kyra doesn't freak and cry the entire time.  It's getting out of control...I just don't know what to do anymore.  Anyone have suggestions?  Books to read?  Royce and I are at our wit's end.  She cries if we say no, if Spencer touches her, if we ask her to smile...I could go on and on.  *sigh*  The 3's are terrible, not the 2's.  I love her to pieces, truly I do, but this stage has GOT to go!

Well, I want to catch some zzzzzzzzzz's.  Going to be at the Naval Academy again tomorrow to do more physical exams on plebes and middies.  It's a tough job, but someone has to do it!  heh heh

  • Guess where Kyra and I are going on Sunday?!?!?

    Disney's Monsters, Inc. on Ice!!!

Yes, I'm a goof...haven't seen one of these

shows in forever.  My two girlfriends are

coming with their 3 yr-olds, too...it should be a blast!  Think I can get Sully's autograph?!?!

October 18, 2003

  • Oh my goodness, I missed my 2-year Xangaversary!!  *doh*  It was the 26th of September.  Dagnabit.

How're y'all doing?  It's a beautiful day today and after I finish the work I want to do, we're going to go out to dinner with my parents and uncle to celebrate my mom's 60th b.day.  Growing up I had soo many different ideas of what it would be like to be married with kiddos.  I always pictured my mom as being a huge part of our lives.  I never thought I would end up being my  mom's mom.  It is strange how things worked out, very sad, strange, surreal.  I'm doing research on multi-infarct dementia and found something that has rocked my world.  This whole friggin' disease could have been prevented.  If her doctor's at the time would have diagnosed her high blood pressure, and controlled it, this would never have happened.  I have no idea who those doctors are, but you can bet I'm not wishing them well-thoughts right now!   It amazes me that there are people out there calling themselves doctor when they can't even diagnose something as simple as high blood pressure.  Crap.  I'm going to have to channel this anger someway.  'Cus honestly, folks, I'm seeing red right now.

Y'all stay safe and happy this weekend.  Okay?

  • I tried to blog yesterday, but the power supply of the computer died.  Thankfully it wasn't a terribly long or important blog.    heh heh

Things 'round here are purty boring.  Fall is definitely making its presence felt in the mornings and evenings.  If it weren't for the fact that winter followed autumn, I would love this season much more.  (in this case, i'd have to say i'm a half empty kinda girl, eh?)  Looking forward to watching Survivor and CSI tonight!  Yahoooooo!  The more I'm in school, the more I'm thinking I may end up specializing in forensics.  I'm really good at figuring out the problem, the mystery...it's sooo cool to me.  Apparently there is the chance that I could do one of my rotations/clerkships at the crime scene office in DC.  That'd just be awesome!!

Anyhoo, that's 'bout it.  The kids are doing great...Spencer has this thing where he loves to tickle our feet.  He fell over backwards (giggling himself silly, I might add) while trying to pull off my socks to get to me feet.    Kyra is definitely 3, those of you who are parents, understand.  Those who aren't...just go to McDonald's or the mall or the grocery store and look around, you'll understand.  Thankfully, she's also absolutely sweet most of the time and smart as a whip.  They're my sweetie pies!
