  • Hola, ok, I'm posting some pics of the vacation.  I'd do a whole vacation blog on the Dominican Republic...and I still may, but there just isn't time now.  Soooo, here's some pics, there's a ton more that I'll post as I have the time.

    Our Rosy-Cheeked Princess

     The Sandman

    I was trying to post another pic of all of us, but that'll just have to wait.  Y'all take care and have a fantastic week.  I'm praying for this rain to stop!!!!  Oh, don't forget to set your clocks forward this weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yes, I am back, did NOT fall off the face of the earth.  Am totally exhausted, school is fun...did my first blood draw and IV today!!    I promise to post pictures soon and talk about the trip to the Dominican Republic.

    Right now my pillow is looking very good.  Oh.....YEAH, THE YANKEES LOST!!!!!

  • Y'all stay cool.  I'll be back in a week...relaxed, sunburned/tanned, and happy.

  • Well, have made it through one final, one more to go plus three cases I have to review on-line.  4 days till I'm laying on a beach...ok, realistically, 4 days until I'm running after the kiddos on the beach.    heh heh  Kyra is soooo excited!  Spencer, well, he doesn't care what we're doing as long as we're all together.

    Found out my schedule for rotations...I can't believe they start in June!!  My first rotation is pediatrics.  I'm crossing my fingers for a great site because I'm on the fence on wanting to go into peds or surgery, my one prof suggested pediatric surgery.  Hmmmm.  We'll see.  We turn in our wish-list soon - the top 3 places where we want to go for specific rotations.  I'm putting down places in the Montgomery County, Washington, DC and Northern, Virginia area.  I am tired of the long drives too and from school.  I don't want to spend the majority of my time in the car!

    Well, y'all stay cool/warm/whatever.    Have an awesome day!

  • Well, went to see Passion last night.  I am very glad I saw it, amazed at, well essentially all that I saw.  For all that I wanted to talk about, say, discuss...I can't, it's too powerful a movie to just casually go over.  If anyone wants me to go into it a little deeper, I will.  If you haven't gone and are planning to, just prepare yourself because it is not an easy movie to watch.

    My father-in-law asked me last night if I liked it.  I thought that an odd question as he had seen it the day before.  This is not a movie that you like.  It is a movie that means something to you, that makes you think, that makes you understand something a bit better.  It makes you go home and pick up your Bible to read about the Passion.  Affected?  Yes.  Moved?  Yes.  Amazing portrayal?  Yes.  Liked it?  I can't really say yes to that.

    Well, that's about it from me tonight.  I'm supposed to be studying Pediatric medicine for my final tomorrow morning.  But, reading about child abuse just isn't all that uplifting.  Makes me very sad to know that there are people out there who abuse children because they are depressed or lonely or isolated.  Grow the heck up, people.  That's someone's life.  Get some help.  Leave your child, your step-child, your neice/nephew/friend/whatever the heck alone!!

    Okay, I'm going to git.  I'm obviously in one of those moods tonight.  Y'all stay cool!

  • Man, my last day at the Naval Academy.  Soo sorry to see that place go.  Didn't think I would be, but I actually am.  Luckily for me I'll be at Bethesda's Naval Hospital in April for a week to learn lab work.  So, if you're in the area and need blood drawn...RUN!!!!!!    heh heh

    Crazy week ahead...well, not soo bad.  But exams always give me the heebie-jeebies.  I can't seem to get motivated to sit down and study.  Urg.  Must study!

    Well, y'all have a great weekend.  Please stay safe, be nice, and don't run with scissors.

  • This semester is almost over.  Two final exams next week, a project due, and then we're off to the Dominican Republic.  To say I'm a bit excited would be a total understatement.  I can not wait to play with the kiddos in the pool, on the beach, in the ocean...I need soooo badly to just be a mommy and wife for a while.  7 days in paradise, ahhhhhhhh.  Only 9 more days.

    I think Royce and I are going to see The Passion on Saturday night.  I'll be taking along a box of kleenex...I can barely sit through a Hallmark commercial without losing it!  I'm not going to comment on all these Christian and Jewish groups who are bashing the movie...if you don't like it, don't go see it and just shut the heck up about it, k?  I'm a Christian and my church thinks it's a good movie for the adults to go see, that's all the backing I need.  (bit edgy today, ain't i??)

    Well, I guess that's about it.  I have to hit the books and get some studying done so I can watch Survivor and CSI tonight.    Y'all stay cool.

  • Hola, folks!  2 Weeks and we'll be in paradise!  Whooo-hoooo!  I'm sooo excited!    Then, in May, me and 7 girlfriends are going on a cruise!  Holy smokes...our husbands are gonna regret ever saying it was a good idea.    8 women away from husbands, kids and responsibility???  (only one of us is not married, she is the divorcee of the group, and loving it, I might add)  I'm soooooo looking forward to that trip!

    So, how are y'all doing?  Keeping up with your sacrifice for Lent?  I'm doing pretty good...in fact, because I have given up desserts and soda I have lost over 3 lbs in a week!!!  Dang, you think I was eating a bit too many desserts??    I'm really anxious to go see The Passion of the Christ...maybe I can get my parents to come over and play with the kiddos for a few hours.  Seems like a controversial movie, but one that is worth going to see.  And, seeing as it is a time of reflection, no better time than the present.

    ~~~~~~~~~~
    I'm thinking of calling Spencer the Little Daredevil.  This boy knows no boundaries.  He thinks it's funny to go to the top of the slide and dance around at the top.    Sure, sliding down is fun, but seeing the shocked faces is much better.  Or, this morning I found him standing on one of the small chairs we have for the kiddos at the top of the basement stairs!!  In his defense he was copying Kyra who apparently pulled this smooth move only moments before.  Yeesh.  Thank goodness I have blond hair or the grays would be popping out like crazy!
    Y'all stay safe and have a great weekend!
  • 18 days till vacation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I am soooo ready to just lay around, play with the kiddos and swim in the ocean.  *sigh*
    I've been going through old family pictures the past few nights.  My girlfriends are going to help me put an album together for my mom.  I want her to have something when she does go into a full-time care facility.  Looking at the pictures is turning out to be harder than I thought it would be.  I look at my mom and every picture I analyze...is there a hint of the Alzheimer's?  Was she already starting to loose bits and pieces??  I miss her soo much that I'm finding myself only remembering the bad stuff lately.  When I talk to Royce about my childhood, I'm bringing up things that I never gave a second thought to before.  I'm making my mother into this evil Disneyesque character.  Was it really that way, or am I just doing this to make losing my mom that much easier?  Crap.
