  • Hopefully this will show...here's a pic of Royce and his buddy's on their recent Myrtle Beach guys n' golf trip.    My hub is the one on the left...isn't he dreamy??

I tried scanning in some pics of the fam last night, but they need to be reduced a bit in file size before I can download to Xanga.  I'll try again tonight!

Have a great day, y'all!  I'm going at noon for a "hair consult".  I'm getting 11 inches cut off to donate on the 17th of May and want to be sure that this person has some good ideas for my "new 'do".  Wish me luck!!

By the way, it's free scoop day at Baskin Robbin's...go get you some free ice cream!!!!

April 28, 2003

  • I've started this blog no less than 6 times already.  Let's see if I get through it this time.    We had a wonderful anniversary.  A truly romantic evening out, just Royce and me!   It does a heart good to spend quality time with the one you love.  We ended up going to a Tapas restaurant in DC...Jaleo...and it was fantastic.  We had some sangria and several tapas, then some dessert, dessert wine...and off to the Kennedy Center!!  Saw Shear Madness, the longest running play in the DC area and the 3rd longest running play in the nation.    It was sooo funny, a lot of it is improv and there is a lot of audience participation.  I highly recommend it if you happen to be visiting our fair city.

The rest of the weekend was spent with the kiddos.  Kyra has now "graduated" to pull-ups, and if any of you with toilet-training kiddos know, this is a huge deal.  I told her diapers didn't fit her anymore (thanks Coralyn ) so she gets to wear big girl pants.  We've had great success with the #2 on the potty, but it wasn't until this morning when she did her first #1 on the potty.  You truly know you are a parent when you actually dance and clap when your child pees on the potty.     She did a little dance too.  hee hee

Spencer is now higly mobile.  He prefers the army crawl and manages very well...despite some very red knees and belly from carpet "burn".    He is just the happiest baby.  I fall all over myself doing silly stuff to make that little guy giggle.  (thank goodness there aren't any hidden cameras in our house, it's just embarrassing!)

Well, I've blabbered enough.  Y'all have a great Monday!

April 24, 2003

  • How goes it?  I am extremely excited...tomorrow is our 5th wedding anniversary!!!!!!!!!!  WOW!  I am just stunned that 5 years has nearly passed.  I pretty much knew Royce was the "one" from the start.  Couldn't tell you why, or how, I just knew.  I still get all fluttery when I think of him.  When I remember the first time we met, our first date, the first time he kissed me...*shivers* yeah, I'm pretty much a bowl of mush.

I want to post some pics of my handsome man, maybe tonight I can put together a blog.  Can I tell you all a secret??  I'm surprising him tomorrow with a very special delivery at work.  He is an absolute nut for H&H Bagels from NYC...so I'm having 2 dozen bagels shipped to his office.    Hee hee.  I've wanted to do this for sooo long and finally just bit the bullet and did it.  He would think flowers were frivolous and would probably be grumpy about any money I spent...well, he'll still be a bit grumpy, but you only live once.

We're going to go out to Bethesda somewhere for a romantic dinner on Saturday.  I can NOT wait!!!!  I get my husband's undivided attention for hours on end.  *sigh*    If I don't blog this weekend, y'all will understand, right? hee hee

    You all take care!!

  • So, how do you like my new look???    I can't figure out how to change my header.  How do you download fonts and then utilize them to make a neat-o header???

Stayed home with the little peanut yesterday.  Her right ear was oozing some most unattractive "gunk" and had to take her to the ped.  So know 3 out of 4 of my family is on Augmentin.  I tried to convince the pharmacy to give me a family discount...maybe if I go on Augmentin they'll consider it...hmmmmm.

The painting is officially finished in our house.  Let me just say it is amazing what a bit of paint and some crown molding can do to "classy" up an area.  I feel like I should always be dressed up in my own house now.  (I'll get over that reallll quick!)

And, lastly in the mish-mosh.  Royce went to the O's game last night.  Game was over in 2hrs 8 mins...he was home by 10:35!!!  (We live nearly 50 minutes from Camden Yards.)  Not the greatest game the O's have played lately, but he got to go to the game and have a couple beers with his buds.  Not bad for a Tuesday, huh?

  • Take Me Out to the Ball Game.....

Yup, that's what we did yesterday.  Went to see dem O's.  What a fantastic day for baseball.  Started the day with one of the BEST Easter Sunday services I've ever been to...then off to Camden Yards.  Had a big ole picnic with our kiddos, then off to our seats.  (We've had a Sunday season plan forever...but we changed seats a year or two ago, and because of having them babies, this was my first time in the new seats.  They're awesome!)

The kids were soooo great for the entire ballgame.  Tho' it happened to be the shortest game in nearly 20 years...over in 2 hrs and 15 minutes!  Holy smokes!  But, nothing quite like sitting in the stands, drinkin' a beer, and watching your boys actually play the game.  Ahhhh....

My mom is thrilled with her daycare!!!!!!!!!!!!  She believes that she is going to help other people, and she hasn't stopped talking about it.  I am sooo relieved, you just can't imagine.  I'll just continue praying that this break for my dad continues to go well.

    Y'all have a great week!

April 17, 2003

  • I'll blog if only to let y'all see something different on my page here.    Things are crazy around our abode.  Two kiddos sick, one mommy fighting off the germies and slowly losing, one house getting some much needed TLC in the way of some fresh paint and mouldings, and a partrige in a pear tree.

Yesterday we were able to enjoy the gorgeous weather by taking a family stroll to our neighborhood park.  On the way there, Kyra told Spencer as he reached for her "cell phone" (my old one), "That's a BIG no-no, Spencer!"  Royce and I nearly collapsed.    Where the heck does she get this??  She definitely keeps us on our toes.  The whole way home from day care yesterday she chatted on her cell...after putting on her sunglasses that is.  I nearly drove off the road when she started spouting instructions to whomever she was "calling".  Don't you love 2 yr-olds??

My mom started her day care program today.  The bus picked her up at 9 and my dad will go pick her up at 3.  We're starting her with 2 days a week.  I just pray that this works...if it doesn't, I'm pushing for a residential situation.  My dad just can't handle this 24-7 any longer.  My mom is just too difficult to take care of.

And, finally, to end this hodge-podge blog.  Got my physical for school done yesterday.  The results for blood work were in so I can proudly say that my cholesterol is a mere 134!!!  And my good cholesterol levels are nearly equal which is apparently a very good thing.  Whooohooo!!   I also got a tetanus shot (holy crap those hurt!) and more blood drawn to run titers on my past immunizations.  I can't believe school starts next month.  OH MY!!!!!!!!!!!

Y'all have a terrific day, ya hear?

  • Here's some entertainment for you, some oldies, but goodies!!!

From the old Hollywood Squares show in the 70's:
Q: If you're going to make a parachute jump, you should be at
    least how high?
A: Charley Weaver: Three days of steady drinking should do it.
Q: True or false...a pea can last as long as 5,000 years.
A: George Gobel: Boy it sure seems that way sometimes...
Q: You've been having trouble going to sleep. Are you probably a
    man or a woman?
A: Don Knotts: That's what's been keeping me awake.
Q: According to Cosmo, if you meet a stranger at a party and you
think he's really attractive, is it okay to come out directly and
    ask him if he's married?
A: Rose Marie: No, wait until morning.
Q: Which of your five senses tends to diminish as you get older?
A: Charley Weaver: My sense of decency.
Q: In Hawaiian, does it take more than three words to say "I love
you"? A: Vincent Price: No, you can say it with a pineapple and a
    twenty.
Q: Paul, why do Hell's Angels wear leather?
A: Paul Lynde: Because chiffon wrinkles too easily.
Q: Charley, you've just decided to grow strawberries. Are you
going to get any during your
    first year?
A: Charley Weaver: Of course not, Peter. I'm too busy growing
    strawberries!
    Q: In bowling, what's a perfect score?
A: Rose Marie: Ralph, the pin boy.
Q: It is considered in bad taste to discuss two subjects at nudist
camps. One is politics. What is the other?
    A: Paul Lynde: Tape measures.
Q: Can boys join the Camp Fire Girls?
A: Marty Allen: Only after lights out.
Q: When you pat a dog on its head he will usually wag his tail.
    What will a goose do?
A: Paul Lynde: Make him bark.
Q: If you were pregnant for two years, what would you give birth
to? A: Paul Lynde: Whatever it is, it would never be afraid of the
    dark.
Q: According to Ann Landers, is their anything wrong with getting
into the habit of kissing a lot ofpeople?
A: Charley Weaver: It got me out of the army!
Q: It is the most abused and neglected part of your body - what is
    it?
A: Paul Lynde: Mine may be abused but it certainly isn't
    neglected!
Q: Charley, what do you call a pig that weighs more than 150
    pounds?
    A: Charley Weaver: A divorcee.
Q: Back in the old days, when Great Grandpa put horseradish on his
head, what was he trying to do?
A: George Gobel: Get it in his mouth.
Q: Who stays pregnant for a longer period of time, your wife or
    your elephant?
A: Paul Lynde: Who told you about my elephant?
Q: When a couple has a baby, who is responsible for it's sex?
A: Charley Weaver: I'll lend him the car. The rest is up to him.
    Q: Do female frogs croak?
A: Paul Lynde: If you hold their little heads under water long
    enough.

  • Whooohooo!  Spence slept allllll through the night...which meant Kyra slept through the night...which means mommy and daddy slept through the night!    (It's a good thing too since Royce and I stayed up to watch the basketball game last night.  Go Syracuse!!!)

Our little guy is a moving machine.  While not doing real crawling yet, he is army crawling every where...and when he gets frustrated with that, he just rolls.  And...last night while I was getting their bath ready, he pulled himself to his knees!!!!!  Oh my, the days of immobility are totally over!  He's sooo proud of himself when he get's up, but is a tad bit confused about what to do once he's on his knees.  He reaches for me, but can't seem to figure out how to get onto his chubby little feet.  *sigh*  Spence is just tooo darn cute for words.

Well, I need to git.  Y'all have a super Tuesday, ya hear?

April 7, 2003

  • Well, until my Premium kicks in again, here's a boring ole blog.    Interesting weather we're having isn't it?  Sheesh.  Yesterday we were running all over the playground in sweatshirts and today we're bundled up in winter coats.  Yankees are cancelling opening day due to snow?!?  Er, has anyone looked at the calendar recently?  I want my warm weather back.

Well, I need to git.  We've been working real hard with the Spence-man to get his sleep back on track.  *sigh* Between his crying and then Kyra getting upset because her damn sock fell off in bed, my nerves are kinda shot today.    Y'all stay cool!
