  • Hope you all had a great long weekend!  I'm nervously putting off going to bed...tomorrow is my first day of school.  I can't believe that I'm finally starting allllll over again.  A year of taking classes to get to this point.  I don't think I've EVER been this afraid!!  I'll let you know how it goes.  I know the anticipation is worse than the reality...I know I want to be a P.A. so this is going to be worth it!

Spence is all over the place these days!  If you are anywhere near him, he grabs your hands and pulls until you get up so he can start "walking".  And he doesn't stop until he is coated in sweat and panting.    This lil guy is gonna keep us on our toes!!  He is just sooo darn loveable, I'm finding it harder and harder to remember those difficult days of his infancy.  Kyra is soo much fun too...she introduced me to her "friends" today.  She already is making up imaginary friends!    I love these kiddos to pieces.  I thank God everyday for giving them to me!

Y'all have a great week.  I'm not sure when I'm going to be getting on here for the next several weeks with school and all.  Take care!

  • Whhooooweeee this site is looking yucky.  Please, help!  (Thanks to Anna, I'm looking much better now,   and hopefully there'll be more pics thanks to Cyndee's help!  Y'all are soo great!)

Spencer is doing wonderful!  We had lots of play time last night and this morning.  He's just too darn cute for words!  (course that doesn't stop me from trying!)

Best of all, my out-laws have left.  Phew, just a day and a half and Royce were already at each other's throats from the tension they cause.  His mom pretty much thrives on picking apart everything any body does.  She must be a very unhappy person, you know?

  • Spencer's surgery went off without a hitch.  The little guy was napping all snuggled up with his "Mooshy" (a stuffed piggie) when I left for work.  He's in the capable hands of my in-laws and his big sis.    I love that little guy!!  (Eh, pretty much every nurse was falling all over themselves to play with him and make him giggle.  He's definitely a lady's man!!)

And from our wonderful area Wal-Mart... (maybe now y'all can see why I only shop at our Target )

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A suburban Washington woman was in a Maryland jail Monday on charges of assaulting a 4-year-old after he spilled ice cream on her in a fast-food restaurant over the weekend, police said.

The woman shouted obscenities at the child and his grandmother, chased the boy around the restaurant and eventually rubbed hot french fries in his face, a Montgomery County police spokeswoman said.

The woman, identified as Malika Hayes, 18, left the restaurant but was later arrested. The felony charge can be punished by up to 25 years in prison.

  • Hola!  Well, I only have a few minutes to say howdy.  I'm off to yet another doctor appt to find out what we can do for these "wonderful" stones.  My primary care doc informed me today that atleast we don't have to do emergency surgery...uh, when was someone going to tell me this was an option????

Anyhoo...I am trying to take a pic with my PC camera so y'all can see my new "'do".  I did it!!!  I chopped off nearly a foot of hair on Saturday!!!!!!!!  It's in a baggie all ready to be sent off to Locks of Love...I want to send a before and after pic, so I have to wait until my pics are back.  If I do say so myself, my short hair is very sassy!  It's soooo nice being able to move my head freely after I've sat down...I'd always get my hair stuck between the chair and my back so I'd nearly get whiplash if I tried tilting my head forward!    I promise to post pics as soon as the camera decides to work!

    Peace.

  • Sorry I haven't been 'round this week.  Since last Friday I've been laid up thanks to kidney stones.  I've apparently passed some but still have a gaggle of them just waiting to break free.  Sooo, I'm just hanging out, taking pain pills, reading and watching some really bad movies.  And, since I'm not exactly coherent, I'm jus' gonna leave you with a pic my friend took of us after church on Easter.

Here's another update:  Spencer is scheduled to have tubes put in his lil ears next Wednesday.  We have an appt to have his hearing tested on Monday...I'd do it except at my office we don't have the equipment to test lil guys like him.    If you all have a spare sec to say a prayer for my family, could you say a couple for us??

  • Last night I proved yet again that while I may be book intelligent, there are times that I do not exhibit the best of judgement when it comes to my children.  What did I do??  I bathed them, by myself, at the SAME TIME.  Yes, this is an extreme lack of judgement, common sense, whatever you wish to call it.  I was lulled into a false sense of security as both kiddos were behaving beautifully up until the point I put them in the tub.  You've seen the pictures, those cute faces...how in the world could they possibly be hiding such devious personalities?!?

Into the tub went Spencer...who has loved the water and bathtime up until the point that he learned to be mobile.  He must be mobile at all times.  Have you tried catching a baby while shampooing a toddler..who by the way, HATES getting water in her eyes?!?!  I ended up putting the shower curtain draped over the curtain rod because it was serving as a climbing device to escape the tub.  When that was taken away, mommy and her hair became the alternate climbing rope.  Remember, all during this I was trying to actually clean the children.  I'm certain that I forgot to wash some parts...in fact, I'm not even positive that Spencer got any soap on his body...come to think of it, I think I used the baby soap to wash his hair.

Once out of the tub...Spencer then spent the next few moments that I was standing him at the edge of the tub toweling him off...trying to get back IN the darn thing!  Apparently, he just wants to get where he's not.  But after getting him into pajamas, giving him the bottle and tucking him in to bed, I got to spend some cuddle time with my princess.  Who, by the way, was singing and dancing and talking to herself (wearing a spiffy sun visor as an accessory to her pink nightgown) in her mirror in her room.  Is it too early to get her a kareoke (??) machine??

I think I'll not do that again...until they are both a bit older and better able to "help" with bathtime.  Let me just say...thank goodness the kegerator is working....

  •  Here's me and my little guy at the O's game on Easter.  Isn't he sooo cute?!

And here's my princess Kyra and my hunky hubby.    This is from our vacation in Florida.  Aren't you glad I'm not going to show you alllllllllll my pictures?!?!

  • We survived yet another weekend.    Went to the O's game yesterday.  I just LOVE Camden Yards...if you've never been there, you have GOT to make an effort to go.  Despite the fact that my O's aren't doing well (500 just out of reach), it's a great park to watch the game.  The kids did extremely well...Kyra knows she get's cotton candy at the game and is then on a sugar high until bed-time....lovely.

Orientation was, overwhelming, to say the least.  I am nervous, but mostly it is the anticipation that is killing me.  I just want to get started!  The 27th can't come soon enough.  I have lots of money to spend between then and now...books to buy, supplies to load up on, loans to aquire.  Ahh, the life as a poor student.

I have absolutely nothing worthwhile to say...so I won't bore you any longer.  Have a great Monday!

    UPDATE:

Crud, Spence has yet another freakin' ear infection.  We just finished his Augmentin not even 2 weeks ago!!!!!!!!!!  His left ear is totally inflammed and his right is just filled with fluid.  Wonderful.    No wonder the poor guy hasn't been himself.  Royce took off from work to take him to the ped's office.  This doc apparently is not one to beat around the bush about tubes.  Spence has had THREE infections in less than 2 months...not great stats.  I'll be scheduling an appt for him with the doc I work with.  *sigh*  The poor little guy!

  • Yummmm...we got our free ice cream cones last night!!  That was such a great treat.  I was holding Spencer when I got my cone (strawberry in a sugar cone) and the little guy got sooooooooooooooooooo excited he tried ripping it right out of my hand.  Unfortunately, since it was strawberry, I couldn't let him have it...daddy had to share his Oreo cookie cone.  heh heh  Whoever said mommy's aren't smart?   (f.y.i. babies aren't 'sposed to have strawberry anything until they reach a year due to allergy concerns)  Kyra totally enjoyed her first real ice cream cone.

Tomorrow is orientation for my P.A. program.  I'm excited, nervous, anxious....I just want the program to be underway!  I'll let you know how my classmates are, give you the "low-down on the competition/classmates"

Oooh, update on my mom.  She has been accepted into the program to go everyday!!!!  So, M-F she'll be picked up at 9 and then my dad goes to get her at 3.  He is soooo happy that she has this outside care and he now has that help and relief.  My uncle (my mom's brother) and my brother continue to be real a$$e$...and I essentially told my uncle that in an email.  It's like they are relieved that mom is getting care and *phew* that means they don't have to be a part of this mess.  Uh, WAKE UP AND SMELL THE FREAKIN' COFFEE!  My dad still needs our support, we both need respite every once in a while...stand up and be a part of this family!  Sheesh, I'm sorry, I just get soo po'd by my family and their lack of responsibility.

Y'all have a super day!!  Survivor is on tonight!!  Whooohooooo!!!!
