  • You ever notice how I leave some posts up FOREVER before blogging again?!  Seems to always happen after I post pics of the kiddos.    Shameless, ain't I??  What a weekend.  Study, run to friend's wedding, socialize, come home, study, sleep, wake up, study, calm crying Spence/Kyra/Spence/whomever, study, study, study.  Oy.  Royce went to the 'Skins game today with his bro-in-law (not my bro) and nephew.  Had a blast and is now tanned again, dangit.  Thankfully he wore shorts, he said it was 80 some degrees up in the nose-bleed section!

My mom is turning 60 in just a bit (on the 21st) and we're having a little to-do next Sunday.  Her bro is actually flying in from Germany to hang with us.  I really wish and pray everyday that that celebration could really be a true one.  Where my mom played with the kids, remembered everything, was the mom I grew up with.  It's soo hard to watch her being taken from us a little bit at a time.  Worse still is seeing the toll it's taken on my dad.  God has put this obstacle in our path for a reason, I just need to figure out why...or what I'm supposed to do with it.    I love you, Mom.

Well, y'all have a safe and happy week.  I'm taking Kyra for her very first hair cut tomorrow.  Yeah, after 39 months, I'm finally going to do it.  Mind you, it's going to be something like 1/2" or 3/4" that's coming off...but she's pretty excited.  Wants it all lopped right off.    Eh, no.    I'll post pics when I get 'em back.  Tah tah!

And, just to prove that I do clean every once in a while....

See, that's me in the top left, laying on the floor and supervising...    heh heh

    Y'all have a great day!

October 7, 2003

  • What a perfect day...lunch with the girls, lots of studying and research done, fun with the kiddlets, now back to studying and researching.  Yup, somebody hold me down, having way too much fun.  (uh, yeah, that'd be sarcasm)  If the studying and researching weren't a part of my day, it would've been perfect.  Oh well...

So, how's your week shaping up?  I actually am looking forward to the weekend...Royce and I are going to a wedding and then OUT ON A DATE!!  Holy cow.  I'm all nervous, what should I wear?    He's been soo sweet lately, I'm just soo lucky to have him.  He is my constant cheerleader, my friend...I can't even express how much he means to me.  (Plus, he gave me these two precious kiddos, he's a great guy! )

Ok, enough mush.  That's all.  I need to hit the books.  Dang, I'm gonna be soooo glad when I can stop saying that!

  • Hmmm, I'm liking the beta, lemme tell you.    Now I get to use all my fav fonts.  heh heh

So, my Hoos won this weekend, we'll skip over mention of the 'Skins, that's just, well, not really worth chatting about.  Did y'all catch Trading Space$ $100,000 episode??  Dand, that was cooooool!  Glad they had Doug and Laurie doing the rooms, tho' I would've LOVED to have seen what Vern woulda done.

This is gonna be one of those short blogs 'bout nothing, so I apologize.  Just stalling before I hit the books.  Y'all take care and have a great week.  Monday will be over before you know it!

  • Wow, would you check out all the cool colors we can use now??     Way to go, Xangaguys/girls!!

Wanted to thank all of y'all who stopped by and gave me "hugs" re: my stolen stuff.  I received a call later in the week and they found my backpack!!  Obviously the valuable things were taken, but my wallet was there...so I'm really hopeful that my sentimental stuff is still there.  Now to figure out how to get it!

I don't know if I told you all...as part of our curriculum, we have to go to some sort of medical facility this semester and perform Histories and Physicals on patients.  Guess where I am???  The Naval Academy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Totally cool.  It is the neatest place to be, it is just soo steeped in tradition you can't help but be in awe while you are there.  My father-in-law graduated in '58 so he's totally pumped that I'm at The Academy.

Well, that's enough boring stuff.  I do want to leave you with a funny Kyra story.  Last night Spence was crying in his crib.  I had Kyra in the bathroom so she could do her thing before bed and she asked me why was he crying.  I told her it was because we were taking away his bottle (he's 16 months old) and he's sad.  She looked at me all serious and said, "Well, you could give him a little bottle with a cup of milk."  She kept saying it and then said, "C'mon, say it with me, a little bottle with a cup of milk."  I gotta tell you that I nearly split my side laughing...Royce did too once I told him.  I think it was even more funny because she was making all sorts of hand gestures to go with it.    Ok, maybe it doesn't translate well, but dang, I'm still giggling!!

    Y'all be cool.

  • In honor of UVA's defeat of Wake Forest....I've used their oh-so-fashionable colors for my blog this evening!    Yup, we were there to see a 53-YARD FIELD GOAL!!  53 yards, folks!  This guy, Connor Hughes, is amazing!  The guy must have ice in his veins to pull off a kick that awesome...and there was much room to spare!  He also kicked a 20-some yard field goal to win the game for the Hoos.    A great game to be at...well, ok, UVA had a few too many turn-overs, but it still rocked!

That is, until we got back to the car and I noticed that my backpack was missing...along with my wallet, cell phone, class notes, software CDs and Royce's Palm.  CRAP.  I was pretty upset about the wallet because there was some sentimental items that can never be replaced.  If nothing of monetary value is ever recovered, I just couldn't care less, but PLEASE, give me back the little things that I've kept.  The receipt for the doctor's office...for the sono the day they induced me with Kyra.  All of the little cards that came with flowers Royce has sent me through the years.    Dang, this is hurting like heck.

Y'all have a cool evening.  Peace.

  • Okay, y'all...had to share!  Look what we bought Spence for Christmas!!!!!!

Isn't that cooooooool????    I was up till after midnight last night searching the net for one that wouldn't break the bank.  I finally found a place that was right on track and the shipping wasn't gonna be tooo gastly.  But, I decided to go to the two stores that Step2 said might have it....Baby Depot ROCKS!!!  The cheapest anywhere plus no nasty shipping charges.  Yippppeee!!  Royce just carted it upstairs and we'll put it together this week...not for Spence to sleep in just yet, but to get accustomed to.  He's such a great crib baby...Kyra was outta her's by 14 months cuz she hated it so much.

Anyhoo, had to share.  Y'all can go back to your lives now...*shoo*    (just kidding, i'm a bit tired)

September 21, 2003

  • *phew* Our power is back on!!  Yeah!  And, another blessing...our fridge in the kitchen is working again!  (last week it looked like we were going to have to buy a new one, then the power goes out and *whammo* fridge is working!)

We had fun with my parents...actually walked to get ice cream after dinner.  Then the kids played in the little courtyard area that the shopping center has...sooo much fun to watch them both play.  It's hard to believe they come from the same parents in how they behave.

Well, I have an exam (supposedly) at 8AM tomorrow so I best be off.  I did want to let you all know we're baaa-cccck.  Take care and all that.

September 20, 2003

  • Well, we made it through the storm...as the song goes   But we also happen to be at my parent's place because we have NO POWER and PEPCO is telling us it may be until Thursday before it's restored.  Dag-nabit.  As a result, I'm gonna be scarce here b/c the 'rents have dial-up and I don't want to tie up their lines and computer.

Oh, and if you haven't checked out Neil's blog....that might be something to look at.    heh heh http://www.xanga.com/item.aspx?user=Narragansett55&tab=weblogs&uid=34215359
