Last night I proved yet again that while I may be book intelligent, there are times that I do not exhibit the best of judgement when it comes to my children. What did I do?? I bathed them, by myself, at the SAME TIME. Yes, this is an extreme lack of judgement, common sense, whatever you wish to call it. I was lulled into a false sense of security as both kiddos were behaving beautifully up until the point I put them in the tub. You've seen the pictures, those cute faces...how in the world could they possibly be hiding such devious personalities?!?
Into the tub went Spencer...who has loved the water and bathtime up until the point that he learned to be mobile. He must be mobile at all times. Have you tried catching a baby while shampooing a toddler..who by the way, HATES getting water in her eyes?!?! I ended up putting the shower curtain draped over the curtain rod because it was serving as a climbing device to escape the tub. When that was taken away, mommy and her hair became the alternate climbing rope. Remember, all during this I was trying to actually clean the children. I'm certain that I forgot to wash some parts...in fact, I'm not even positive that Spencer got any soap on his body...come to think of it, I think I used the baby soap to wash his hair.
Once out of the tub...Spencer then spent the next few moments that I was standing him at the edge of the tub toweling him off...trying to get back IN the darn thing! Apparently, he just wants to get where he's not. But after getting him into pajamas, giving him the bottle and tucking him in to bed, I got to spend some cuddle time with my princess. Who, by the way, was singing and dancing and talking to herself (wearing a spiffy sun visor as an accessory to her pink nightgown) in her mirror in her room. Is it too early to get her a kareoke (??) machine??
I think I'll not do that again...until they are both a bit older and better able to "help" with bathtime. Let me just say...thank goodness the kegerator is working....

What you lack in wisdom you make up for in bravery!
I'd forgotten how hard it is to bathe kids. At 21 and 15 mine don't need a whole lot of help any more.
LOL! you had me right there with you on this one...i remember bathing both my kids when they were younger and it's never an EASY task---makes for great stories later though
