I've started this blog no less than 6 times already. Let's see if I get through it this time.
We had a wonderful anniversary. A truly romantic evening out, just Royce and me!
It does a heart good to spend quality time with the one you love. We ended up going to a Tapas restaurant in DC...Jaleo...and it was fantastic. We had some sangria and several tapas, then some dessert, dessert wine...and off to the Kennedy Center!! Saw Shear Madness, the longest running play in the DC area and the 3rd longest running play in the nation.
It was sooo funny, a lot of it is improv and there is a lot of audience participation. I highly recommend it if you happen to be visiting our fair city.
The rest of the weekend was spent with the kiddos. Kyra has now "graduated" to pull-ups, and if any of you with toilet-training kiddos know, this is a huge deal. I told her diapers didn't fit her anymore (thanks Coralyn
) so she gets to wear big girl pants. We've had great success with the #2 on the potty, but it wasn't until this morning when she did her first #1 on the potty. You truly know you are a parent when you actually dance and clap when your child pees on the potty.
She did a little dance too. hee hee
Spencer is now higly mobile. He prefers the army crawl and manages very well...despite some very red knees and belly from carpet "burn".
He is just the happiest baby. I fall all over myself doing silly stuff to make that little guy giggle. (thank goodness there aren't any hidden cameras in our house, it's just embarrassing!)
Well, I've blabbered enough. Y'all have a great Monday!

A bladder infection has set our potty training back a little, but I'm (note:cloth diaperer) going to try some pull-ups to get her back into the swing of things... I also think it will help with the night-time training. ((Feels like cheating, but oh well!!))
Sounds like a happy little bunch y' got there!!
You sound so happy! This is such a great blog to read. Especially wonderful that you could enjoy some couple time. It still breaks my heart that my husband doesn't value that.
Just when I thought "almost 4" was old enough to be completely potty-trained, I was blessed with a special boy who would never quite "get it." It is indeed worthy of dance!
Glad you had a good time with Royce! Yes, those times out can be very therapeutic!
Totally know what you're going through with the toilet training. Each child was a bit of a chore to get through. Suffice it to say, I'm glad we don't have to go thru that again!
They didn't have those pullups when our kids were little, dang it. Congratulations.
